Enhance your creative spirit and individual style through weekly drawing and
painting projects. Basic elements such as shadow, light, form, color and
composition will be reviewed and used to give paintings life and a three-dimensional
quality.
These classes will explore different methods of starting and completing a painting
using still life, student ºs reference photos and remembered landscapes.
Classes are designed to give both new and experienced painters the information
needed to develop individual techniques and style.

Wednesday mornings 9:00AM - NOON June 16 to September 15, 2010 Basic drawing and painting skills; materials and the use and care of artists tools are the focus for this class designed for new and experienced artists. Pencil, charcoal and oil/acrylic paints are used to explore light, color and values. Traditional methods are used to create paintings with depth and volume. Materials list available. |

Thursday mornings 9:00AM - NOON June 17 to September 16, 2010 Color, composition and exploring new methods are the focus for this class. Students are encouraged to develop individual techniques and style to create dynamic drawings and paintings. Previous experience with basic skills recommended. Materials list available. |

Tuesday mornings 9:00-NOON June 15 to September 14, 2010 Students work on individual projects using personal photographs or still life compositions. Composition, color harmony and contrast will be reviewed and individual instruction provided; instructor and group critique add another element to the learning process. Some basic painting experience is recommended as a prerequisite to this class. |
